Meet the founder

"Mission: To redefine the architecture of the cinematic gaze through an uncompromising dedication to visual poetry and structural precision."

About Robert J. Moore (Coach Rob)

Robert J. Moore—known to many as Coach Rob—is a community leader, educator, playwright, and visionary dedicated to changing lives through service, mentorship, and creativity.

In 2024, Robert made a bold move to Atlanta, Georgia, to pursue a lifelong dream—expanding his impact, storytelling, and community work on a larger stage. But his journey didn’t start there. It was built through years of perseverance, purpose, and a deep commitment to giving others what he didn’t always have growing up.

Raised by his mother, Florence Moore, and later adopted at age 11 by Christopher Michael Smith, Robert’s life experiences shaped his passion for mentorship and guidance. After moving to Philadelphia in 1990, he attended Saul High School and went on to graduate from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2000.  Today, he is the proud father of ten children—and a father figure to hundreds more across Wilmington, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and beyond.

A Life of Purpose and Impact

Coach Rob is the founder and President of the C.H.A.N.C.E. Foundation (Character, Honoring, Attitude, Nurturing, Caring & Educate), established in 2006. Through this organization, he has created programs that empower youth, strengthen families, and uplift entire communities.

He also founded Team Crossover Elite, an AAU basketball program that has helped thousands of young athletes travel, compete, and experience opportunities far beyond their neighborhoods.

Over the years, he has launched several impactful leagues,

including:

  • Lil’ Dribblers

  • Delaware Basketball Association (DBA)

  • Stop the Violence Basketball League

To honor two young lives lost to gun violence, he renamed the league the JDR & Coach Q League, ensuring their legacy continues to inspire change.

One of his most powerful initiatives is the “Me & My Dad Got Game” tournament—a 2-on-2 experience designed to bring fathers, mentors, and children closer together while building lifelong memories and values.

Beyond Sports: Creativity & Expression Understanding that every child has a different path, Coach Rob expanded his work into the arts.

In 2014, he launched New Young Mindz (NYM), a community magazine where youth and young adults highlight positive stories and voices within their communities.  The Magazine Re-Launched in 2025

As a playwright and creative, Robert writes stage plays and films that reflect real-life struggles and triumphs in urban communities—giving people stories they can see themselves in.

He has also developed performing arts programs, creating opportunities for youth of all backgrounds and talent levels to discover their voice, build confidence, and express themselves.

Building Safe Spaces for Growth

In 2018, Robert opened The Learning Foundation, a community center focused on STEM and arts education. It quickly became a safe haven for children—a place filled with structure, encouragement, and love.

In 2019, he launched Bell Ame Beauty Lounge, a salon that not only provided services but also taught youth valuable skills, creating jobs and opportunities within the community.

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of the business, Robert didn’t stop—he adapted. In 2023, he opened another community center in Wilmington, continuing his mission to serve where it’s needed most.

The Mission

Coach Rob’s work is deeply personal.

He knows what it feels like to grow up without guidance, without structure, and without consistent support. That’s why everything he does is rooted in purpose—not recognition.

“None of what I do is done for me. I’ve lived through not having, not seeing people care, and lacking a father figure. My purpose is to show kids to never give up on their dreams. If you can see it, you can do it.”

Looking Ahead

Now based in Atlanta, Robert J. Moore is continuing to grow his impact through:

  • Film and stage productions

  • Youth programs and mentorship initiatives

  • Community partnerships

  • Creative storytelling that inspires change

More Than a Title

Coach Rob is more than a name.

He is a father.
A mentor.
A leader.
A creator.
A man of heart, honor, and humility—living every day on purpose.

His mission is simple: to give every child a CHANCE.
